There is an important announcement at the Heller web site re the group health coverage, esp. CIGNA. Check that out, and pay particular attention to any mailed communication on that you get from Heller or CIGNA.
If you have been on CIGNA coverage, I would check with them directly as to whether or not have to move to COBRA coverage between now and Nov. 30. A reading of the situation that way has been made by some, and it has logic, but doesn’t make much practical sense (a bunch of people move to COBRA via CIGNA only to have to move again to HIPAA within a few weeks?). If you are off CIGNA coverage, you should have got a formal notice either from the firm or CIGNA directed personally to you. And that notice should have told you what your options, and their timing, are.
I haven’t been on CIGNA, so this isn’t precisely my situation. But it’s very important for those who are, so check with your insurer.

There is an important update (10/31) on the Heller Ehrman web site. Bad news on Kaiser. And news about what the firm says will be coming out from Payflex on COBRA.
If you have been on CIGNA, you may want to look at HIPAA as a guaranteed-acceptance option for after COBRA is no longer available.
